Hata no Kokoro | Touhou

Let it Snow

[Not being able to find any familiar landmarks, Kokoro is forced to conclude that she's not in Gensokyo. No ghosts or evil spirits flying around, and no ceiling overhead, so by process of elimination, this is the outside world.

Next logical leap: It's snowing! Very hard. Last thing she remembers, it was summer, so that's weird too. Maybe the seasons work differently in the outside world... or wait, wasn't there an incident where the seasons were out of control just recently? Maybe it's like that. There's a troublesome youkai afoot!

Speaking as a troublesome youkai herself, this is bad news. It sounded like Gensokyo cut its ties with the outside world in the first place because youkai were being exterminated in huge numbers, and if there's an incident going on, that makes her chances of being trusted even slimmer. If she's going to get along well in this world that's probably being menaced by - and therefore probably unfriendly towards - youkai, she'll have to come up with a plan.

This convoluted chain of logic is what leads to Kokoro swooping down from overhead towards people in apparent distress, twirling her naginata dramatically, and striking an exaggerated kabuki pose.]

Fear not! The youkai hero Kokoro has arrived to bring an end to your troubles!

[It would probably be a bit more convincing if her introductory speech wasn't delivered with a blank face, in a dull monotone.]

Locked In

Ah.

[Kokoro turns as the door swings open. Her usual elegant appearance is a bit weakened by the half-melted snow she's still trying to get out of her hair and clothes. It's a real blizzard out there.

...shrug.]
You can have the bed, if you want. I don't need to sleep, and I won't die even if I get cold.
