[When Regis turned to face General Glauca, he knew exactly how the clash would end. What he didn't know was how many minutes he would be able to buy for Lunafreya and Glaive Ulric. All too quickly his injuries and exhaustion would cause a reaction to come too slow; all too quickly the magic would answer his call a moment too late. While he was prepared for what would come, this? This he wasn't prepared for.
On one hand, the cold very quickly numbs what's remains of his left hand, though Regis knows he can't allow that for long, which is why he wastes little time summoning flame into his right hand. The warmth is snatched away quickly, but it is better than nothing and the light allows him to see more of the area surrounding him. Not that there is much to actually be seen but snow. Honestly, he's about to randomly pick a direction when he feels a familiar pull on his magic and then sees lightning split the sky.
Moving quickly is beyond him sometimes, even on his best days, so the fight is near done when he arrives, though, he doesn't miss the pause in the recovery warp or the less than perfect landing.
Regis' reaction is instinct. As soon as the familiar form of his Glaive comes to a stop near his feet, he summons a protective barrier between them and whatever that creature had been. He has no idea if it will be pulling itself together anytime soon and he's not in the mood to take risks.]
