The androids are the original residents here. There's a research outpost a bit away from here where we all kind of live now, and the androids are researchers there.

They give out these magiteck devices that can stabilize the Fissures when we get deep enough inside. I didn't get one, though, so there's not much the two of us can do but help others if they need it.
