[It doesn't take long to reach the surface. Korra could probably move faster in the water if she used her bending, but the point is to stay together so she just uses her normal swimming ability augmented by her webbed hands.
She brushes her wet hair back when she surfaces and takes a look around. They are fairly close to shore after all, but Korra doesn't notice anyone wandering around over there. They're still a good swim away though, so it's not like they can just walk up to the beach.]
