Even if you'd rather stay here instead of go back to your world, or follow someone else to theirs--I'm sure they wouldn't mind the company, especially if you helped out a little around the station. They only had each other before all of us started showing up.
They can be stabilized, though! Once you activate these things, they cancel out the magic inherent to the Fissure and force it to obey this world's reality, I think? we've done it to a couple other places before. Hopefully with enough of these things, we'll be able to stop this place from burning all the time.
