It's the sound that alerts him - another person who has arrived here and found themselves robbed of something they would not have expected to lose. There's so many of them, that Ignis has found himself venturing out, even though it's strange and disorienting.

Hopefully, at least, there's nothing he needs to be wary of because he can't smell it. He already can't see anything.
