Game Updates

INTRODUCING...: Please welcome Claire (Violet Evergarden) to the mod team! She'll be assisting with various mod tasks such as Loot Rolls, dungeon + monster design, and various other Top Secret Shenanigans.

WHAT'S THAT NOISE?: After the construction drones finish setting up a stable near the station for Catria (Wren's pegasus), the drones vanish below ground - however, they can still be heard occasionally. It sounds as though they're hollowing out another section of the cliff near the station...?

A POLL: And on the matter of station updates, would you rather have a library (books! books books books books) or an AV room (audio/visual/etc media) with the mid-cycle update on the dungeon sign-ups? (Note that you will still get the other one eventually, it's just a matter of which you would rather see first.)

HOUSEKEEPING: Have you gotten your character a room on the housing page yet? If you have, please double-check and make sure that your room number is in the comment subject line for the ease of other players looking to see what rooms are taken!

AND ONE MORE THING...: Next dungeon is Amesta Forest, a dreamy not-so-little grove to the station's southwest! For some reason, it's shrouded in a strange sort of eternal twilight... Who knows what other effects there might be in this Fissure? (It is possible to guess.)

I've been super pumped about PhanRift every since Nai started work on it so as you can imagine I am ALSO super pumped to be helping him out with it! Nai will obviously still be wearing the Main Mod Hat but I will be here in my tasteful Mod Dollar Store Halloween Tiara if any of you good dudes need a helping hand where needed. Prompto Argentum

Where do they hang?: Chicken room, roof, Top's technology lab, and now that they've stabilized the surrounding areas, down by Glitterstone Beach pretty often. Prompto doesn't like to be cooped up inside where there's no sunlight.
What are they doing?: Raising chickens and going out to hunt landsharks so that people won't eat his clucky daughters. Also gluing himself to Noct's side, because, man, this month was rough and he's stupidly happy and relieved to have his BFF around.

Where do they hang?: currently?? THE BEACH... but, before that, it was primarily kitchen area and rooftop. he prefers to be out and about, so it's actually very difficult to catch him in any sitting area or his, kurama's, and goro's room (after, uh... noon, because getting out of bed before noon is a struggle, some days).

What are they doing?: deeeepends...
beach: looking around for shiny objects, sitting (away from where a valentine's-style shark could get to him??) around, building a fucking sandcastle and aggressively slaughtering any landshark that tries to wreck it...

also naps in weird places apply to this location, so feel free to have it so your character kicked him awake woke his ass up at least once.
chicken room: doing more petting than anything else, probably.......
kitchen: curry!!!!! or trying to learn how to bake stuff. he will offer samples to anyone who ventures in, and bless them if they try anything that involves sugar. because this guy is not very skilled at baking sweets yet. no seriously it might have tasted salty that One Time, because i am fully willing to say he hecked up and put salt instead of sugar.

but aside from that? anything that isn't a sweet pastry probably comes out edible? he will have made some improvement by this point, especially if anyone took up the liberty of helping him.
roof: noooooothing too special, just yet. he mainly goes up here to sit and read or write. if anyone manages to get a close enough look at what he's writing, they'll be able to see that he keeps a diary.
Anything else of note?: he kind of keeps to himself and goes about his day, for the most part, and he's a bit prone to getting lost in thought if he sits still for too long with nothing to do (or even when he's trying to read / write), so people are free to have their character having noticed that.

also, again, naps happen? so tbh feel free to use that as handwaved interaction material; he probably dozed off on the roof or that rare moment he hung around a sitting area in general.

Where do they hang?: Generally pretty close to the station, most often the viewing deck, but occasionally the caves and beaches.
What are they doing?: Naps deserves its own header because if you think someone could nap there, Izunia has napped there. If you think someone couldn't nap there... he's probably napped there. (==> You begin to wonder why Izunia even has a room...)

Viewing Deck/Roof - As before, any time Izunia is awake at sunrise or sunset, he's outside to watch. Now COMPLETELY regardless of the weather, since he can hide under the clear roof on the viewing deck when it rains.

Actually, he spends a lot of time on the viewing deck in general, particularly at night. Then he can be found sketching (or playing with his cards or one of the shiny feathers from the gull fight) at the table underneath the light-up umbrella. He can also sometimes be found on the upper portion of the roof, looking at the stars.

Flats around the station - The sandy, grassy area between the station and the lighthouse makes a pretty good practice yard, and Izunia can be found out there pretty regularly with an assortment of weapons and magic. Looking for a sparring buddy some afternoon? You could do a lot worse. Just don't question how he can swing that greatsword one-handed.

EVERYWHERE ELSE: he's still one of our terrifying spicy-food-eaters and also actually capable of cooking for himself (anyone want a grilled seagull sandwich?), PLUS he's going to probably try and figure out this whole DDR thing once that's set up in the meeting room that's getting co-opted for a games room. watch him flail.
Anything else of note?: Did you ever see a descendant so beautiful you cried? b/c that's about Izunia's mood right now. c: Prompto isn't the only one excited for Noctis being around GRANDPA IS JUST MORE LOW-KEY ABOUT IT... possibly because things are still awkward w/ the whole "my immortal brother targetted you for his two thousand years of plotted revenge" thing. Just a little.

also does anyone want to learn not!tarot with a magically weaponized deck b/c he got a thing. ALSO COME DO A MISSION W/ ME MAYBE?

Tarot is only slightly relevant to Goro's interests...anyway, he'll be happy to watch Izunia flail at DDR, and then maybe show him how it's done. Maybe, he's still a little embarrassed about it.

Alastor would also be interested in sparring with Izunia! Think you can keep up with someone twice your age, whippersnapper?

Character name + Journal: Sawbones Jetshard @ dubiouslychthonic
Where do they hang?: Medbay, public living areas of the station (common room, kitchens, deck, roof), her room (#1, often hangs out in there with the door open). Occasionally out to one of the beaches but only at night.
What are they doing?: She's often hanging around the medbay during either the evening or the early morning, reading, cleaning or organizing, or just killing time in a place where she feels potentially useful. Otherwise she's being a bit of a homebody - she's used to living in enclosed spaces anyway and doesn't find the station itself uncomfortably confining, although she's certainly not opposed to going out, especially if someone else is going.
Anything else of note?: Jetshard is nocturnal by both nature and choice. It's very rare to see her up and around during the middle of the day, and while she's usually active during the early mornings and evenings, she prefers not to go outside while the sun's up.

Would Jetshard like to help Prompto make his egg baby happy and comfortable in the weeks before it hatches? She likely knows more about that sort of thing than he does.

Where do they hang?: The beach, magic lab, and kitchen
What are they doing?: On the beach, he's spreading his wings...literally. He's taking advantage of the open skies to fly around looking for shiny things, and also climbing the cliffs just for fun. You can find him in the magic lab studying how the local magic works and being an excited nerd over it, and also sometimes dozing off with a book in his lap because he doesn't sleep enough at night. In fact, he's likely been caught up at all hours of the night, when he really should be asleep. And the kitchen...the kitchen is where he tries to cook. Tries being the operative word, as he's still early in learning. Anyone wanna try sugary vegetable soup? It should balance out the bitterness from the scorched bottom well enough!
Anything else of note?: This is going to happen.

Where do they hang?: The roof, common area, and occasionally magic lab
What are they doing?: Mostly either reading up on local magic or watching whatever movies the Station has. When he's outside, it's to get some fresh air...and get his feet off the ground. People may notice he has a slight aversion to walking when there's enough airspace to fly.
Anything else of note?: He hasn't actually picked a room yet, since he doesn't have much stuff and doesn't sleep. So. Feel free to have noticed that.

as for goro, these two should climb things together. also improving on the cooking has definitely continued to be a thing... well, baking in akira's case.

Character name + Journal: Astolfo + riderofcharlemagne
Where do they hang?: All over the station, but he can very often be found at the stables, roof, viewing deck, and common area!
What are they doing?: In the stables, tending to his Hippogriff. On the roof he can be found practicing his sword skills, and on the viewing deck chilling and appreciating the sights (often at night). In the common area, generally socialising, and giving impromptu ""concerts"" with his newly-acquired keytar.
Anything else of note?: If you're hearing an ungodly noise at unfortunate hours, it's not him using his horn, he's just practicing on the aforementioned keytar.

For those who don't already know, he doesn't sleep- so he'll bump in to those who are nocturnal or have strange sleeping schedules.

Alastor, on the other hand, also doesn't need to sleep. Maybe they've sparred to kill boredom when most of the Station is asleep?

Where do they hang?: All around the station, more specifically the common room, viewing deck and occasionally kitchen; the newly-built stables (since they were made for her sake and all!); the beaches
What are they doing?: Wren's the type who will cheerfully greet people whenever they happen to pass by and is eager to strike up conversation. She hangs in the common room more for the sake of socializing than actually having anything in particular to do there. She also visits the viewing deck on a semi-regular basis; she finds it to be quite a relaxing place, especially in the evenings.

...And yep, we have yet another failure cook. These poor kitchens, they did nothing to deserve this treatment...

Needless to say, she spends a good amount of time with her pegasus Catria, be it tending to her in the stables or taking her out to fly on the shore. Wouldn't do for either rider or mount to get out of shape! On that note, you might see her doing some combat exercises out there on her own. It's not quite ideal, but better than nothing... Yeah, if anyone would like to offer to be her training partner, that would be great. Just don't actually injure Catria, she'll never forgive you.

Anything else of note?: If the library happens and please let it happen Wren is pretty much going to set up shop in there full-time.

Character name + Journal: Violet Evergarden (shiritai)
Where do they hang?: A little bit of everywhere! She's been doing a lot of exploring of the whole station and generally poking her nose into things. She spends a good amount of time on the roof and the viewing deck when she's not holed up in her room, though. You can also find her in the kitchens sometimes, trying her hand at cooking which is honestly a level of disaster that will probably get its own log post.
What are they doing?: Violet's mostly just settling in and trying to find herself some sort of routine. She's very used to being On A Schedule so suddenly having a lot of downtime is a little bit weird to her! She's been trying to learn how to cook (which is going badly) and generally trying to make herself Useful around the station.
Anything else of note?: Characters will probably notice that Violet basically disappears when it comes time to take meals and she makes a point of avoiding others when she's eating. It's not hard to find her at dinnertime, if you really, really want to (she's usually on the viewing deck) but she prefers to be alone when she's eating.

Where do they hang?: The roof, the new balcony, and the kitchen, mostly. He can also be found flying around in his bigger, not-as-talkative form down the beach and cliffs, now that they're stabilized.
What are they doing?: Napping, eating, reading a book, hunting, pestering people, climbing on things he probably shouldn't clim on.
Anything else of note?: He's everybody's grumpy grandpa and while he's NOT the oldest person here (Isunia >.> ) he LOOKS like the oldest person here. Also rather like Izunia, he's probably also designated a "nap grandpa", only you might find him in the old man form or as a big black dragon thing.

Where do they hang?: Different places! She's spending at least some time outside on every day when it's not raining.
What are they doing?: Taking notes, kinda-sorta-spying on people
Anything else of note?: On an OOC level, I may be a little slow for a couple weeks! There are Big Life Changes happening that are going to eat a lot of time and also I might not have internet for a couple days because one of those changes is moving.

Character name + Journal: Robin (male) (matchmakes)
Where do they hang?: Throughout the station! The most common spots to find him are the common area or the magic lab, but every now and then he can be found in the kitchen. And then when the library happens he's going to basically move in there.
What are they doing?: Like his sister, Robin's pretty friendly and will greet people as they pass by+be eager to strike up conversation. He'll also probably have a bunch of questions about people's worlds. He'll probably be doing a lot of reading and if you find him outside, he'll probably be training (he'll be happy to have anyone join him).
Anything else of note?: Please teach him to be less of a disaster in the kitchen. Please. Also if anyone wants to play chess with him, feel free to bug him for that.

Character name + Journal: Noctis Lucis Caelum, this journal!!!
Where do they hang?: ANYWHERE but mostly in his and Prompto's rooms. He also chills outside because being cooped up all the time is Not Fun. Also probably the chicken coop!
What are they doing?: He Sneep. Seriously, Noctis is like a cat. He sleeps a lot, so he might crash in weird places sometimes, like when he's watching movies. He also plays video games! His cell phone has games and junk. Noctis also will start sparring? Eventually? Gotta keep in shape. Also, he spends a lot of time with his boyfriend best friend Prompto. They're going to have surgery to be attached at the hip.
Anything else of note?: i decided he's gonna get the power to turn into a cat some time. cute.
