What's insincere about it? I certainly don't take pride in calling myself a murderer, but I'm not going to lie to myself and try to pretend there isn't blood on my hands, either.

Besides, I didn't choose Crow as my code name just for the associations with murder and conspiracy. I do genuinely appreciate and feel an affinity for corvids, and it matches my tengu mask. Which, by the way, I got before the idea of killing anyone really crossed my mind.

Ah, you assume that because I called myself terrible, I didn't mean what I actually said. I will grant that my tone was affected, but I'd really rather not get into my actual feelings regarding myself in a public space.

To some, that's all I ever will be. I can't expect everyone to be willing to forgive on the basis of regrets, or even care about circumstances. All I can do is accept that I'm marked as a killer and that some...most, more likely, won't be able or even inclined to look past that.

Well...it's not as though regrets will undo the suffering I've caused, or bring comfort to the ones my victims left behind.

No, but your regrets will spur you to show more compassion towards others and to help people in the future. And it shows you understand the seriousness and weight of your actions.

No one can change the past. And some are kind enough to recognize how fallible humans are, no matter how terrible the consequences of their actions.

I'd think 'killed dozens of people' qualifies as more than simple fallibility. I certainly do my best to show kindness and help others when left to my own choices, but even one murder is a difficult sin to erase.

i form my opinions of people as much based upon how they feel about their actions as the actions themselves

if i did not already know you, the way you act about it would give me a far more negative opinion of you than the actions themselves

killing is easy and can be done for any number of reasons

taking pleasure in killing, or acting like you do, is an entirely different thing

Killing is simple, at least. The only way I would call it easy is if you ignore the effort of forcing back my feelings on the matter.

Smiling when I don't mean it, however, is quite easy. I have done it every day for the past several years, after all.
