This is actually a very specific reason why weapons weren't available in Incendia in any form, because we wanted people to still largely have to spend points for those, and similarly why most of the magic items were of the "make modern life easier, not super useful against dungeon monsters or encounters" variety.
Basically, Incendia streamlined the game's process of living, while still making dungeons challenging. That was the design goal.
