OOC intro - October 2018
Hello, and welcome to the OOC Intro for Phantasmal Rift! This post also serves as a CR meme and overall state-of-the-game update!
IC Intro will go up on Monday, at the conclusion of the dungeon - but if you'd like, you can go ahead and jump into the tail end of the dungeon log now! You're welcome to top your own top levels using whatever prompts you like, and if nothing works, we'll be back at base soon!
(And yes, you get loot for any further comments you leave on the dungeon log, up to a max of five, same as in-game players. Any loot earned thusly will be appended to the sign-ups under a header with your character's journal name.)
STATE OF THE GAME
Of ice and snow: The next dungeon will be Bellmare Mountains, a series of high peaks coated in ice and snow! As previously discussed, this dungeon - taking place OOCly over the holiday season - will be extended OOCly throughout the majority of December. Also as previously discussed, this dungeon's time is a bit strange, with the passage of time within the Fissure slowed - this is to bring the OOC and IC calendars back into something more closely resembling alignment. Please look forward to the full details of the schedule come dungeon sign-ups!
Permissions post round-up: If you have a required opt-in/out permissions post for your characters' powers, please make sure to drop it under the appropriate comment header below! Existing characters' permissions are already linked there, for your convenience.
Anything else?: As usual, the questions and feedback header is here for you!

And now, the weather;
10/6: Overcast leading into sunbreaks, with a mostly sunny (though still chilly) afternoon.
10/7-9: Sunny but cool; nights are not yet approaching freezing, but cold enough that most people will want some kind of jacket, especially with the sea breeze.
10/10-13: Overcast with occasionally drizzly rain.
10/14-18: Steady drizzle.
10/19: Sunny morning, overcast afternoon.
10/20: Increasingly heavy rain, from showers to "more than a drizzle, less than a pounding."
10/21-22: Drizzle, but moderate winds.
10/23-26: Cold snap! Nightly lows just shy of freezing, daytime chilly but clear.
10/27: Overcast but still cold from the cold snap; warms slightly overnight.
10/28-30: Overcast, periodic showers. Foggy mornings.
10/31: Clear and moderately warm by comparison to the rest of the season.
11/1-5: Foggy mornings, overcast, occasional showers.
11/6-8: Rainy, steady drizzle.
11/9-10: Overcast, with both occasional sunbreaks and spotty rain.

Who are you?: Mod dad is here! Hello, I'm Nai, he/him/25/PST-with-the-worst-sleep-disorder-so-time-is-a-lie. Pretty much everyone knows me well enough to be deeply confused by the fact that I now have a girl in this game, as I'm usually team Boys are Cute to contrast Claire's Sapphic Nonsense. I have two cats and a mess going on in my RL right now, but outside of that I run a good portion of the plot and event modding.
I now have four characters here at Phanrift, so please hold for... a lot of characters.

What's their deal?: This is Kurumi, currently-ill former-sprinter of the School Living Club, which is - look Claire's made everyone watch it, it's a group of Japanese highschool girls in the zombie apocalypse trying not to die. Kurumi was the team muscle, but then she got bitten, sort-of fixed by an experimental medicine, and has had Some Complications with her health since then. She'll be arriving back to the station in a wheelchair and very tired after running around like a maniac after her form change let her get up and Do Stuff for the first time in a while.
Also, she's a Nai Character, so you know. You know her type already.
Plotting: Claire made me do it - anyway so Kurumi is going to be mostly Dealing With her health troubles and eventually starting to build her strength back up, and that's.... pretty much all I have planned for her this app cycle. It's okay she has a lot of people to meet and Junpeis to question the existence of.

What's their deal?: Child royal Chosen One gets kidnapped, brought up as a child soldier in the military of a religion he hates by an abusive mentor. Breaks free, spends a very stressful most-of-a-year trying to save the planet, dies. Wakes up on a bizarre tropical island, begins to learn less shitty coping mechanisms??? And now he's here.
Plotting: he did it, he did the whole adoption, ardyn's his dad now, we're all very proud of him. also he's got a really big sword to learn how to use. Generally, also, he's due for Nonsense, and awkwardly making a few more friends.

What's their deal?: Local excessively tall goth actually retired king/spirit, his twin was the antichrist of their world at one point (but he's better now, because he was in a murdergame). Tends to be one of the more stable station residents until He Isn't, prone to dadding grandfathering anyone who looks like they might need it. Also, he's two thousand years old and slightly put out about no longer being the oldest at the Station, but it's fine, really.
Plotting: Izunia will, as usual, be going with the flow this month. Considering how prone to getting into everything he is, I don't have any serious plans except making Nao suffer.

What's their deal?: In the far future of earth, shounen fighting spirit manifests as drills on mechs and there's a huge metaphor about drills and evolution. With lots of yelling. Viral is the rival-turned-ally who is the token Not Human team member at the end, and he's still... getting used to dealing with humans, which gives him Trouble sometimes.
Plotting: The big settling in dance, let's connect with some of the other murdergame survivors, let's ignore the clown as long as possible. Mostly he just wants to fight, so please let him, he has a lot of energy to burn off after murderschool.
