OOC intro - October 2018
Hello, and welcome to the OOC Intro for Phantasmal Rift! This post also serves as a CR meme and overall state-of-the-game update!
IC Intro will go up on Monday, at the conclusion of the dungeon - but if you'd like, you can go ahead and jump into the tail end of the dungeon log now! You're welcome to top your own top levels using whatever prompts you like, and if nothing works, we'll be back at base soon!
(And yes, you get loot for any further comments you leave on the dungeon log, up to a max of five, same as in-game players. Any loot earned thusly will be appended to the sign-ups under a header with your character's journal name.)
STATE OF THE GAME
Of ice and snow: The next dungeon will be Bellmare Mountains, a series of high peaks coated in ice and snow! As previously discussed, this dungeon - taking place OOCly over the holiday season - will be extended OOCly throughout the majority of December. Also as previously discussed, this dungeon's time is a bit strange, with the passage of time within the Fissure slowed - this is to bring the OOC and IC calendars back into something more closely resembling alignment. Please look forward to the full details of the schedule come dungeon sign-ups!
Permissions post round-up: If you have a required opt-in/out permissions post for your characters' powers, please make sure to drop it under the appropriate comment header below! Existing characters' permissions are already linked there, for your convenience.
Anything else?: As usual, the questions and feedback header is here for you!

And now, the weather;
10/6: Overcast leading into sunbreaks, with a mostly sunny (though still chilly) afternoon.
10/7-9: Sunny but cool; nights are not yet approaching freezing, but cold enough that most people will want some kind of jacket, especially with the sea breeze.
10/10-13: Overcast with occasionally drizzly rain.
10/14-18: Steady drizzle.
10/19: Sunny morning, overcast afternoon.
10/20: Increasingly heavy rain, from showers to "more than a drizzle, less than a pounding."
10/21-22: Drizzle, but moderate winds.
10/23-26: Cold snap! Nightly lows just shy of freezing, daytime chilly but clear.
10/27: Overcast but still cold from the cold snap; warms slightly overnight.
10/28-30: Overcast, periodic showers. Foggy mornings.
10/31: Clear and moderately warm by comparison to the rest of the season.
11/1-5: Foggy mornings, overcast, occasional showers.
11/6-8: Rainy, steady drizzle.
11/9-10: Overcast, with both occasional sunbreaks and spotty rain.

Who are you?: Fails at Social Cues Person. If I do something that makes you uncomfortable or go 'what', tell me. I am a they/them Aussie with some weird hours, slowish tagging speed, and my hobbies include drawing, writing, worldbuilding, and listening to music.
Ibuki (Clair)
Canon: Pokemon AU!
Permissions: Here!
What's their deal?: Pokemon Trainer, Gym Leader, mother (dragon), someone who will adopt everyone. She's also a shipper on deck and a bit of troll once she gets to know you. Also comes from an AU best summed up as 'TL;DR: dark AU where pokemon are, more or less, seen as tools and weapons by general consensus and very much not friends. Oh and the Dragon Clan of Johto slides from 'Ehhh OK I guess to GENOCIDE!!' re: Humanity'.
Uh. Yea. She's actually a nice person. Her world simply has Issues, and Clair has issues because of her world.
Plotting: General CR? Adopting Everyone Ever, working on that whole: world where people think of pokemon as friends, Dealing with that fallout later. Much much later.

Vos
Canon: Transformer AU.
Permissions: THIS IS AN OPT-OUT. Seriously important so I'm not stepping on toes. Other permissions here.
What's their deal?: Vos is a dangerous alien with questionable morality at best and basically a technorganic space elf (no pointy ears), who comes with Weird BiologyTM that may or may not play nice with magic touching her and her canon appearance is now some funky high-tech armour she can summon at will. She's War Criminal who's done a shitton of horrible things and sees no issue with talking about them. She can be a decent person, but given she's done a lot of really awful things and is a war criminal, her view of decent is skewed.
Vos also only speaks a language she's used to no-one understanding, comes with a bunch of baggage from Fantastical Discrimination. She's also not going to get a lot of human/organic norms, so, have fun with that.
Plotting: General wary/Neg CR (?), getting her settled in and adjusted to a place with magic, life with organics and learning to live with the general norms, giving Carnivac a spark attack. You know, the typical things for newcomers. Also possible Language Shenanigans because everyone's now speaking her language.
