So Violet's slipped into this weird gap between "kid Prompto would be gentle and encouraging and brotherly towards" and "unapproachable formal maiden," which is really enlightening to play out, because it means Prompto doesn't have a ready-made role to put on for her and so the things he says to her are more genuine than they might be with, say, Talcott and Iris on the one hand and Lunafreya on the other. He's also just skirting the edge of realizing something is mad upsetting with her backstory, and he's aware of that and actively holding back; he thinks someone wiser and more qualified than him should get that reveal, not ready to step into that grown-up role. But I'm pretty sure he will, soon enough, because he just feels more strongly about her each time they interact.

I can't believe that chicken thread went the way it did. I can't believe a fourteen-year-old girl is probably going to be the first person Prompto tries to open up about his past with, just because he doesn't want her to go through the same sort of bottling-up he has all these years.
