DUNGEON SIGN-UPS: AMESTA FOREST
LET THE SIGN-UPS BEGIN.
AMESTA FOREST
A sprawling deciduous forest to the southwest of the Station, just far enough inland that it's not deeply troubled by the ocean air. Though it seems perfectly normal from the outside, entering beneath the cover of the trees transports you to an eternal spring evening, suspended in twilight and shrouded in silver mist.
There are a total of seven regions to be explored in this Fissure, because we're overachievers I guess.
Roughly straight west of the forest, beneath the spread of the Tree, is a large lake also shrouded in mist. Beyond it can sometimes be seen the flicker of lights... Perhaps a city? Between the mist and the distance, it's impossible to tell.
More details on these locations, as well as a map, will come with the dungeon log proper!
DUNGEON-WIDE EFFECTS
There are two dungeon-wide effects in Amesta Forest, which are very much related;
The first is that characters within the frozen time of the forest will have no need to sleep. While it's still possible to fall victim to magical sleep effects or other things that unnaturally induce unconsciousness, even those who try to exhaust themselves in ways that would normally send them straight to bed will find dreams escaping them...
...Quite literally, as that is the second effect of the Fissure. The silver mist that hangs thick throughout the forest catches impressions from the subconscious of anyone who stays in one place for too long. In Amesta Forest, your dreams are made manifest - for better or for worse. The mist-forms are not dangerous - at least, not physically - and even the most nightmarish leave behind only the dampness of mist instead of injuries, but that doesn't go very far to make them less troubling.
LOOT
Introducing a new feature on the dungeon information page - Resources! These entries will give you more details about the kinds of Sweet Magical Items you can collect within the Fissures without a loot roll.
As before, characters obtain one piece of loot for signing up for the dungeon and an additional roll per 15 comments on the dungeon log. Additionally, characters can receive a bonus loot roll for tagging someone new on the Test Drive!
IC LENGTH
The IC length of the dungeon will be five days, due to the larger area covered compared to the shoreline! The IC dates will be April 13-18, and as before, the IC date will be noted on Sundays on the calendar going forward!
END-DUNGEON EVENT
The end-of-dungeon event will be the revealing of the final mystery area (as noted above), as well as that area's NPC! There will be a top-level for the entire area, and characters are encouraged to have their own sub-top-levels to mingle, in addition to NPC interactions.
SIGN-UPS
Dungeon sign-ups are used by the mods to manage loot drops. Occasionally, there may be additional information requested by the sign-up, such as opt-in for specific aspects of the dungeon. After sign-ups close, the header comment is frozen until the time comes to distribute loot.

EVERYTHING ELSE
BOOKS, BOOKS, BOOKS: As the Library won the poll on the previous OOC update, that's what you'll be getting first! The week before the dungeon, the unused Lab #6 will be opened and revealed in its full glory... Dusty glory, that is. The androids have apparently just been using this to store all of the books they come across in boxes, and so it's a total mess! Characters are welcome to pick up any reading material they please, and Strange and Down would certainly appreciate any assistance you might offer in organizing... Don't worry, this isn't the library's permanent home.
What's that sound?: The noises outside the station walls continue, though they've lessened significantly compared to the previous few weeks. Occasionally, Top and Up can be seen coming back from the source of the noise, both covered in dust and looking exhausted but pleased. Strange also vanishes off in this direction occasionally, usually in the middle of the night (when they can leave the medical lab under Jetshard's care).
What's cooking?: Is there anything in particular that you'd like to see in the kitchens next food update? Please leave it under the header comment below! Note that not all suggestions will be used at this time; they may be added later or not at all, at mod discretion.
And now, the weather;

There are a total of seven regions to be explored in this Fissure, because we're overachievers I guess.
- The Fringes - The outer edges of the forest, where the magic of the Fissure is not so thick. It seems to be relatively normal... Except, you're sure that that tree wasn't there a minute ago, was it?
- Silvermist Hollow - A series of clearings with extremely thick mist, almost solid enough to touch even before it takes shape. Eerily quiet, and filled with the tracks of animals.
- Blossomgale - An area filled with massive flowers, ranging from their typical sizes to towering overhead with heavy blooms.
- Fall's Heart - Unlike the spring enjoyed by the rest of the forest, this area is shrouded in eternal autumn. Brilliantly covered leaves flutter through the air and pile around mirror-like pools.
- The Infinity Tree - A massive willow, not-quite-miles-high, on the banks of the lake that forms the far border of the forest. Consists of two separate areas - the damp Roots and the higher Branches.
- ... And a surprise! The final area will be revealed the last weekend of the dungeon log, but it is in the upper reaches of the Infinity Tree.
Roughly straight west of the forest, beneath the spread of the Tree, is a large lake also shrouded in mist. Beyond it can sometimes be seen the flicker of lights... Perhaps a city? Between the mist and the distance, it's impossible to tell.

-> Three fleece blankets, folded on top of each other in a neat stack. Dark green, black, bright red.
-> A box of particularly stale Gushers, tropical fruit flavor. Tough, but edible.
-> A small wheeled filing cart, with three deep drawers of clear plastic. Easily lifted or rolled.
-> A bottle of high-quality champagne.
-> A package of sheet music for piano and flute, consisting of six arrangements themed after the seasons of... Well, some world that has six seasons, apparently?
-> This black teeshirt says "MY FEET ARE DOWN HERE" in white text over a white arrow.

-> This glove projects a force field the size of the wearers head when held palm-out. Wires and metal embedded in the glove suggest that the barrier is technological in nature, not magical.
-> A SodaStream carbonation machine with two cans of air, full instructions, and a small bottle of strawberry syrup.
-> A book written as a series of diary entries from a servant girl in a world where the nobility have magical familiars, detailing her love affair and break-up with a prince and eventual role as the governness and lover of his (female) cousin's children. You're only mostly sure it's fictional.
-> A leather coin purse decorated with blue musical notes, containing a variety of coins from the European Union, a belt silver ring with a swirl design, and six glass beads in various colors.

-> A keypad that looks like it would be a touch lock if it hadn't been ripped out of the wall. Hooked up, it reacts to thoughts, and only activates its mechanism in response to thoughts of water.
-> A very large feather pillow, in an orange and white striped case.
-> A bottle of "sparkling pink" juice. Tastes like an odd mix of lime and raspberry.
-> A somewhat worn Altoids tin containing a tube of chapstick (peppermint, unopened), one of those super short pencils they hand out at voting events, a folded-up grocery list, and two individually wrapped mints.
-> A paper lunch sack filled to brimming with a total of eighteen fast food tacos of various sorts. Not a single one has onion.
-> A book detailing the numerous kinds of dragons found in some other world. Several pages about fighting dragons, as well as shadow dragons, are marked by dog-earing the pages.

-> A how-to-draw book helpfully titled... "A How-To Draw Book." Reasonably useful for the beginning artist.
-> A large ornate metal axe; the axehead, except for the edge, is made of wrought-iron vines, with a single burst of ivy leaves where it attaches to the handle. Double-sized and attached to a worn metal handle; swings surprisingly easily.
-> A vial of a sweet-smelling substance that, when consumed, fills you with the urge to kiss people on the cheek and ruffle their hair for half an hour. Roughly three doses.
-> What exactly is this? It's a small animal that looks like a cross between a moderately large rodent and a very small dog, with huge fluffy ears and a tightly curled tail. The chinhuahua looks at you with huge beady eyes. Please don't leave it alone?
-> A makeup brush with a pale pink handle that removes any pink makeup worn by the person it's used on (but only pink makeup).
-> A sack containing an assortment of random seashells, all of fairly good size and quality. Spiralling snail shells seem to have been the gatherer's favorite.

-> A stack of four frosted purple drinking glasses. Inside the top one is a red twisty-tie with a pair of keys on it.
-> A pair of wide but comfortable-looking canvas pants... That appear to be fitting for a man seven feet tall with a tail. Better get a belt.
-> This pair of book-ends, secured in a set with a zip tie, are black with statues of rearing horses.
-> A pair of tasteful black heels that are just a size too small for you, personally. The material is some kind of scaled skin that's impossible to identify.
-> This bone armband, when worn, allows the wearer to twist and bend any bones below where it rests (usually above the elbow) as though they were made of fairly tough rubber. The bones will resume their normal shape slowly over a few minutes, but if the armband is removed while they are still twisted or bent, you're stuck that way.
-> A novel from the middle of some seven-book epic fantasy series. It follows a young man who accidentally developed the ability to speak with the dead, where necromancy of any sort has been outlawed for a century after an evil king tried to use it to take of the world with an army of the dead. Once you get over the last of context from starting in the middle, it seems to be pretty good.

-> A pair of garnet stud earrings of middling quality. Set in gold, with gold backs; the gems are approximately one carat each and a dark wine red.
-> Three pouches of Ooze Tubes. Two cherry, one blue raspberry.

-> A pair of tight-fitting pants made of an unknown, plasticy material. Keeps you warm when you're cold and cools you off when you're hot, via some mutably permeable effect of the fabric.
-> A biography of Maharajah Duleep Singh.
-> A set of modern keys on a keychain. Includes a magnifying glass (in a cheap plastic loupe) and a tiny flashlight. Also, $1.37 USD in various change.
-> A belt that seems abnormally long, at least twice as long as it needs to be to fit around your waist. The buckle is shaped like a cat head. When worn, the wearer is compelled to sit in high places, such as on tables, etc.
-> Three boxes of Little Marie snack cakes, all chocolate with cream filling.
-> A brand new pack of dress socks! Eight pairs, mostly black, one pair dark brown, one pair navy.

-> Six bottles of nail polish, all various kinds (one microglitter, one large round glitter, one metallic, one pearlescent, one regular nail polish and one glow in the dark), in practically the exact same shade of bright yellow.
-> This is just... straight up a leaf-blower.

-> A book called Biology of the Wicked that seems to detail the anatomy of a variety of evil outsiders from Pidonus' world. It's about 90% accurate.
-> Three clip-on neck ties. One black, one black with dark purple rings in a pattern like polka dots, one light brown with a pattern of darker brown leaves.
-> Animate rope with the personality of a loyal dog. 50 feet, thick twine. Must be taught knots the way a dog must be taught tricks.

-> A small bag of deep-fried walnuts.
-> A pocketwatch that is enchanted to not only always accurately show the time, but also how long it's been since you last checked it. Even works if stored in time-stasis.
-> Six itty-bitty dessert forks. All but one match.

-> An assortment of 35 socks, mostly plain white or plain black. Only two pairs; the rest are mistmatched. One has a metallic gold stripe near the top.
-> What seems to be a normal package of oil bath beads in shades of green, purple, and blue. However, as per the fine print on the back, when put in water or thrown on the ground hard enough to burst, they instead instantly explode into a wall of bubbles (roughly thrice the volume of a regular bath tub). 18 beads.
-> A set of Bluetooth over-the-ear headphones of reasonably good quality. The headphone casing is, in fact, blue, with stylized teeth along the band (which is the style that sits behind your head instead of over the top).
-> This wooden charm is carved with runes against food spoilage. When carried, it prevents any food carried on someone's person from going bad (does not apply to hammerspace).
-> A "spidermelon" according to the retail label. When you crack it open, the inside is bright red and sweet-smelling, with black veins in a weblike pattern. Tastes somewhere between a watermelon and a prickly pear; if you save the seeds, it can be grown in the gardens.
-> A purple hair comb carved with lightning. When worn, it sparks interestingly without doing damage to the wearer.

-> A lovely bouquet of fresh flowers.
-> A set of black leather gloves, no thumbs, that go up several inches past the elbow.
-> A modern razor with three blades that never go dull. However, a rune on the back curses the user to always cut themselves at least once while shaving any significant rea (the effect can be eliminated by getting rid of the rune).

-> A pendant in the shape of a small serpent wrapped around a flawed amethyst. The gem is maybe four carats.
-> A six-pack of actual, genuine, mundane human Cup Noodle! Celebrate good times! Chicken flavor.
-> A CD of saxophone-centric jazz music, tending towards the upbeat.
-> These cookies, white with pink sprinkles baked into the cookie itself, cause the consumer to only see shades of pink and red for two hours after consumption. All other colors appear in shades of grey. Otherwise, they're very good cookies.
-> A shimmering silver skirt, coming out to about knee length. The fabric is thin and light, but not so light that it can be seen through.
-> A case of high-quality fineliners in a rainbow of colors. 24 in total.

-> A set of nearly-opaque goggles with red lenses. Flipping a switch on the side turns them to a much more transparent red.
