OOC INTRO - APRIL '18
Hello, and welcome to the second OOC Intro for Phantasmal Rift! This post also serves as a CR meme and overall state-of-the-game update!
IC Intro will go up on Monday, at the conclusion of the dungeon - but if you'd like, you can go ahead and jump into the tail end of the dungeon log now! There's also a sweet new mass top level for the new area (which is also now on the info page, for easy access), including two NPC interaction prompts open to new players and old!
(And yes, you are welcome to post your own unassociated toplevels to the log as well - estimate that the Test Drive happened near the midway point of the log's five-IC-day duration. Any loot earned thusly will be appended to the sign-ups under a header with your character's name.)
STATE OF THE GAME
CALENDAR UPDATES: The game calendar has been updated through the end of 2018! As a reminder, there will be no dungeon in the month of May; the next expedition comes in wet and wild exactly on June 1st! Which brings us to two polls regarding the exact schedule of future dungeons;
POLL NUMBER ONE: THE SPOOPY POLL: There are two options for exactly when the game's Halloween dungeon will be. The first option is mid-October, which - given the current timing of IC vs OOC dates - will ICly most likely be sometime in September. The second option, in mid to late November, will be closer to the IC date of Halloween. Note that you will receive the same content in both dungeons in either case; it's just a matter of which comes first.
POLL NUMBER TWO: THE HOLIDAY FOOD COMA POLL: On that note, regarding the IC calendar, we are opening the possibility to players of having the late December-early January dungeon be something of a time-skip dungeon, in order to bring the IC date and the OOC date back into closer alignment. Exact plans for this will be hashed on a future date depending on player response - this is just a poll looking for initial thoughts! The timing is also to have a lighter amount of content over the holiday season.
LOOT CAP: To keep the mods from becoming overwhelmed, we're instituting a five (5) loot drop cap for loot rolls based upon comments made in the dungeon. This means characters can earn up to seven total pieces of loot - one for signing up, one for commenting to a newcomer on the test drive, and up to five for participation on the dungeon log.
STATION UPDATES: It's a big one, so why don't you just head over to the Annex page to check it out? As usual,there was also an update to the food list. FOOD LIST WILL BE UPDATED BY NEXT WEEK
A small note: In addition to the usual dungeon log, there will be a small plot participation opportunity at the next expedition, specifically for characters who are staying behind from the dungeon log. This will involve NPCs and a maximum of four player characters, and will take place on a locked post to be revealed to the rest of the game at the end of the dungeon. More details to come along with the sign-up log in late May!
Permissions post round-up: If you have a required opt-in/out permissions post for your characters' powers, please make sure to drop it under the appropriate comment header below! Existing characters' permissions are already linked there, for your convenience.

4/22-25; showers with occasional breaks; rarely, sunbreaks
4/26-27; steady showers until a few hours after sunset on the 27th
4/28-5/1; THE SUN, THE SUN with significantly warmed temperatures. The beaches are now warm enough for swimming, for those so inclined.
5/2-4; HEAT WAVE; oppressive sun, high temps, sticky humidity.
5/5; Heat wave breaks; dramatic thunderstorm with light rain
5/6-10; Normal sunshine with a light breeze; ideal picnic weather
5/11-12; cloudbreaks, sometimes overcast
5/13-14 Lighty and misty summer rain, with occasional sun patches. A rainbow can be seen late in the afternoon of the 14th.
5/15-18; Sunny days with cool and somewhat cloudy nights; early summer has indisputably set in.

Who are you?: hey kids, I'm Claire (she/her), one of your spicy and delicious mods. I love pink things, cute anime girls, and i wholeheartedly believe that anime was a mistake that we, as a species, must all atone for.

What's their deal?: A child soldier loses her arms when her country wins the war and after having been raised in the military, suddenly has no way of coping in civilian life. She's taken in by a former general and becomes an "Auto Memoir Doll", a ghost writer for people who cannot write or express themselves in the way they wish. Currently on a personal quest to get some character development so she can grow out of being a Rei Ayanami Expy and into someone who can properly understand the world and people around her.
Plotting: SO, VIOLET HAD AN... INTERESTING TIME IN THIS PAST DUNGEON. Because of that, she's likely going to be a lot more quiet and withdrawn over the next few weeks while she comes to terms with it.
this has nothing to do with me going on vacation on tuesday.She'll still be around if anyone wants to track her down but she's going to be a little more closed off than is usual for her. What's their deal?: oh god where do i begin. christ. alrighty.
so Yuuri's a nice girl from a cute slice of life story that got violently derailed when the zombie apocalypse happened and she and her pals had to spend a year or so surviving in... all that. It wasn't fun! It was extremely not fun! But they got through it in mostly one piece and then all four of them got kidnapped for an interdimensional murdergame TV show by an evil tree NO COME BACK I PROMISE THIS REALLY HAPPENED
Anyway, after a year of All That Nonsense, Yuuri is marginally more well-adjusted and emotionally healthy than she was in canon. She's a fussy, powerful team mom, the most terrifying little lady out of her entire murder family and she is very unhappy to find herself kidnapped from her slice of life happy end epilogue and dumped into another interdimensional kidnapping situation.
Plotting: Getting her settled is going to be my main priority! Yuuri's been in a situation like this before so she's honestly going to expect everything to turn into murdergame rules any second. Once it sinks in that she isn't expected to kill people, she'll relax and chill a little more. WHO WANTS TO EAT LOTS AND LOTS OF YUURI'S DELICIOUS STRESS COOKING.
