TLDR CR MEME
For when you just love the sound of your own hands on the keyboard, it's
THE TLDR CR MEME

1. Post your characters.
2. Respond to other people's characters.
3. Barf a wall of text about how your character feels about their character.
4. ???
5. Profit! And by profit I mean I guess you've done half the work of a CR chart in here.

I mean I think it'll still be a little bit before she manages to shake the last of her "but is this a good idea really" reflex, but on the other hand, no, she's really pleased with this, Jetshard deserves nice things and apparently one of those nice things is a really annoying rough-around-the-edges alien with great rumble spheres.
I think it's partly that Jail's a particular kind of overbearing which, as a generally reserved person who's spent a lot of her adult life with something literally skin deep to hide, Jetshard tends to initially interpret as being equally potentially really existentially dangerous and potentially really hot? Like, intellectually she knows that Jail wasn't ever motivated by suspicions about her blood color, but the adrenaline spike over "why is she going straight for being all up in my business" had to go somewhere I guess.

Ironically, part of Jail's really in-your-face personality is her own way of hiding- if you're always really loud and unsubtle, people tend not to look too hard for any hidden vulnerabilities, because there's so much obvious stuff right there already.

But she's also sure that she's only being put up with because 1. she IS working for Jailbreak, and 2. she's making herself useful. As of right now, she's tacked on a 3. she's one of the only people who knows Jailbreak from before winding up here, so she feels that's cementing her role more firmly in Jailbreak's life. But also like, none of those reasons are "I actually hold a firm position in Jailbreak's life thanks to mutual care and feelings" so like, you know.
She's well aware that she's a kid and much younger than Jailbreak. Jailbreak is still an adult. So in Maddie's mind this puts Jail in a category of people that think she's a nuisance by virtue of being young, where she has to prove that she's Not A Nuisance Or Burden in order to be liked. So she kind of feels like she's one major fuck-up from being cast out of Jail's life. One major incident from reaching the tipping point of "she's useful to keep around" to "she's too much bother to keep around."
SO HEY. At least. At least Jailbreak is the person in the station Maddie like the most?

Jail has this hilarious set of double-standards where she totally expects other people to ditch her as soon as she becomes too much trouble, but she herself would rather die than abandon someone she cares about. It's a shame neither of them is very good at communication.
