OOC INTRO - SEPTEMBER 2018
Hello, and welcome to the OOC Intro for Phantasmal Rift! This post also serves as a CR meme and overall state-of-the-game update!
IC Intro will go up on Monday, at the conclusion of the dungeon - but if you'd like, you can go ahead and jump into the tail end of the dungeon log now! You're welcome to top your own top levels using whatever prompts you like, and if nothing works, we'll be back at base soon!
(And yes, you get loot for any further comments you leave on the dungeon log, up to a max of five, same as in-game players. Any loot earned thusly will be appended to the sign-ups under a header with your character's journal name.)
Due to the delay in app responses, loot for new arrivals will be rolled including Monday's activity. Sorry about the mess!
STATE OF THE GAME
Goes Bump: The next dungeon will be Silvereagle Manor - an entirely appropriate dungeon for Halloween, set in an abandoned castle manor. Or perhaps it's not as abandoned as you think... As long promised, this is our species swap dungeon, so feel free to plot ahead what you want your characters to become in the dark of the night!
This is just temporary: A new points spending option has been added - Single-Time Effects! You can check this out on the Points Page .
Permissions post round-up: If you have a required opt-in/out permissions post for your characters' powers, please make sure to drop it under the appropriate comment header below! Existing characters' permissions are already linked there, for your convenience.

And now, the weather;
8/20-22: Sunny and bright; warm but not baking.
8/23-25: Hot, but with low humidity and a constant breeze.
8/26-28: Warm, higher humidity, sunny with patch clouds.
8/29-9/3: Sunny, but with stormy late afternoons and evenings prone to sudden intense rainfalls. The clouds typically clear up again about midnight.
9/4-5: Sunny, bright and clear.
9/6: Overcast and muggy all day.
9/7-9: Mostly clear, with patchy clouds.
9/10-11: HEATWAVE, as summer breathes its last upon the station. Not as hot as previous heat waves, but significantly more humid. Still patchy clouds.
9/12: Strong winds, clear.
9/13-17: Overcast with occasional sunbreaks; weather steadily cooling.
9/18-19: Sunny with occasional clouds; moderate wind.
9/20: Absolutely dead air; humid, overcast, and not even the station's typical lowkey ocean breeze unless you're right down on the beach.
9/21-22: Rain, mostly drizzling, occasionally intense. Dark, heavy clouds.
9/23: Rain continues, but with more intensity; thunder cracks and lightning visible overnight.
9/24-28: Largely clear with stray clouds; breezy, cool.

Who are you?: Late 20s nonbinary (they/them) nerd living in Southern California who thinks "goblin" is a legitimate lifestyle-slash-fashion choice.
Sonja Klee
Canon: Fallen London (blank slate PC; "Heart's Desire" ambition plot branch)
Permissions: Nothing that requires a response, but she's got a first impressions/ic permissions/ooc permissions post here
What's their deal?: Occultist from an alternate 1890s London that was stolen by capitalist space bats in '61 and relocated to a cave adjacent to hell so a cosmic horror can try and figure out what is love (baby don't hurt me, don't hurt me, no more). She's dedicated the better part of a decade to studying things man was not meant to know, gratuitously messing with both Hell and the Church, dreaming strange dreams of the Neath's god of foul weather and retribution, unsuccessfully trying to organize a card game where she can bet her soul, and dying a lot. She's pretty ok with being here where the sun does not want to murder her extra dead for her crimes against nature. (In her defense, they were really interesting crimes against nature and also, her world's Sun is a two-timing bitch.)
Plotting: Nothing super pressing at the moment! She'll be around, being a little too friendly and a little too blase about Forbidden Knowledge. Also she's got a dog that's made out of a squid.

What's their deal?: AWOL jadeblood brooding cavern attendant and semi-hemoanonymous renegade field medic. She's got a tendency to hang around watching disasters play out that's not entirely healthy and can probably be explained by the fact that she was literally raised by mothman. More of a rebel without a cause than a revolutionary, but she'll ride with any crew that treats her with respect and most recently has stumbled ass-backward into the entourage of a young-adult heiress with designs on the throne. Around here she's one of the OG station residents, works nightshift in the medbay (she's nocturnal), and generally has eased off of feeling like she's going to get scapegoated as the Obvious Weird Alien as soon as something goes wrong and is just kind of living her best vaguely aunt-friend, alien banging life.
Plotting: She's continuing to pick up various healing abilities and also is One Of The People Around Here With Medical Training, so if your characters need a doctor feel free to ping me, she's generally around unless it's like noon or something. Otherwise, IDK, she's around.
